Baltic Sea Region Programme Newsletter

On 7th March 2011 the Baltic Sea Region Programme 2007-2013 launched the latest issue of its newsletter on the latest developments within the Programme. Among the highlights is the recent joint initiative of eight projects focusing on energy issues to establish an “Energy efficiency and renewable energy sources cluster”. The cluster initiative is a new instrument within the BSR Programme designed to make further use of outcomes delivered by ongoing projects and to increase their visibility.

In other developments, the Programme is still admitting project applications within its fourth call for proposals. The call will be open until 31st March 2011. The Programme’s Monitoring Committee decided that in this particular call project owners would have to comply with certain conditions. For instance, the call is open for projects in selected topics not covered by the ongoing 65 projects. The flagship projects of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region being in line with the priorities of the Programme are also encouraged to apply.
