ERB Executive Board meeting in Elbląg

The first 2015 meeting of the ERB Executive Board took place in Elbląg, Poland on 12th February.

The meeting was of particular significance to all ERB stakeholders as it marked the transfer of ERB Presidency from Lithuania to Poland with Mr Vytautas Grubliauskas, Chair of the Association Klaipeda Region handing over to Mr Wiesław Byczkowski, Deputy Marshal of Pomorskie Region. In accordance with ERB Statutes, the Vice Presidency was transferred to the Russian partners and personally to Mr Alla Ivanova, Minister-Head of Agency for International Affairs and Interregional Cooperation of Kaliningrad Region. Also, three new Executive Board members were introduced to the  participants – Ms Anna Fransson and Ms Britt-Louise Berndtsson both representing Region Kronoberg, and Mr Gustaw Marek Brzezin, Marshal of Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship.

Similar changes took place also within the ERB Youth Board, where Mr Maria F. Kjaergaard from Regional Municipality of Bornholm handed over the Chairmanship to Mr Mateusz Kryżba from Warmińsko-Mazurskie Region, while Mr Tautrimas Rupulevičius from Klaipeda Region became the Deputy Chair of the Youth Board.

Another important point on the agenda that day was the adoption of the new ERB Action Plan 2015-2016 which also included the activities of the ERB Youth Board.

Participants also learned more about the activities of the ERB Task Force for Project Facilitation and decided re-confirm the ERB support to already  approved project initiatives, as well as to support new project initiatives proposed by ERB stakeholders.

In the information round a presentation of the current priorities and measures of the cooperation of the Kaliningrad Region was delivered to participants.

Finally, the Executive Board decided to amend the ERB Statutes to reflect the organisational changes of the Swedish partners in the Kronoberg Region, and approved the ERB delegation to the current and upcoming working bodies of the South Baltic CBC Programme.
