On 19 and 20th November ERB Council met on Bornholm. Among the highlights of the meeting was the adoption of ERB position towards the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region and the approval of activities planned to be implemented under the new Information and Communication Strategy. Also, six ERB Working Group projects planned to be submitted to the South Baltic Programme were presened and supported by the Council, including ERB Youth project. The meeting was attended by special guests: Ms Rasa Kairiene, Ambassador of Lithuania in Denmark, Mr Adam Halamski, Ambassador of Poland in Denmark, Mr Karsten Petersen, Chair of CBSS Committee of Senior Officials, and a European Movement group from the Polish region of Warminsko-Mazurskie.

On 20th October 2008 the second call for proposals was announced, to be closed until 9th January 2009.

So far the Steering Committee of the Programme has allocated 4 513 399,50 EUR to the ongoing projects under priority axis Attractiveness and Common Identity, measure Sustainable use of natural and cultural heritage for regional development, by that reducing ERDF money available under this measure. Applicants are invited to submit project applications under one of the two priority axes. A comprehensive description of the Programme objectives and priorities are included in the Operational Programme and the Programme Manual.

On 11th September ERB Executive Board met in Klaipeda. Among the highlights of the meeting was a discussion on the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region and the preparation for the Council meeting on 19 November. Please, see the Minutes
