Mihail Plukhin becomes next Euroregion Baltic President

Mr Mihail Plukhin became the thirteenth President of Euroregion Baltic. On 21 February 2011 the ERB Executive Board met in Kaliningrad in the Russian Federation to facilitate the transfer of presidential powers from the Polish Party and Mr Jacek Protas who held the post since March 2009.

Euroregion Baltic Executive Board summed up the previous year of the ERB cooperation and adopted the Action Plan for 2011 and 2012. The Board discussed ERB’s future involvment in the preparations for the EU Cohesion Policy after 2013 and in the implementation of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region. Specific focus was given to two initiatives: new horziontal action of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region on multi-level governance, local and regional spatial planning and sustainable development, as well as on the YC3 project realised by the Euroregion Baltic Youth Board.
