212 concept notes submitted in the second call within BSR Programme

Second call for proposals in the INTERREG Baltic Sea Region Programme attracted as many as 212 project concept notes covering all ll themes of the Programme priorities “innovation” (98 concept notes), “natural resources” (67) and “sustainable transport” (47). The majority of the concept notes were submitted by project lead applicants from Finland (60), Germany (41), Estonia (26) and Poland (25). Project applicants represent all Programme countries.

The concept notes will be evaluated for further consideration by autumn 2016. The final decision on the approval of project proposals is expected early next year.

Lithuanian partners of the INTERREG South Baltic Programme are looking for an Information Officer for the Programme’s Regional Contact Point in Vilnius.

The South Baltic Programme launched a seed money call. Providing funding for project development activities, seed money can help applicants to develop a full project concept for submission under the 3rd call for proposals between 2 November 2016 and 16 December 2016 or later. The deadline for the submission of seed money applications is 17 June 2016. The application documents are available on Programme website.

southbaltic_2014On 9th May 2016 the South Baltic Programme has launched the 2nd call for proposals. Once again the call will be open to beneficiaries targeting all five Priority Axes.

The call will continue until 17th June 2016.

On 26-27 April 2016 in Kalmar, Sweden the delegates to the Monitoring Committee (MC) of the Interreg South Baltic Programme 2014-2020 met to discuss the results of the the 1st call for proposals. Following in-depth and detailed analysis of each of the 27 proposals, they decided to approve 10 projects for funding.

A match-making seminar between Russian and Swedish municipalities is taking place in Kaliningrad on 28-29th April 2016. The goal of the seminar organised by ICLD (Swedish International Centre for Local Democracy) is to rekindle cross-border cooperation on the local level by identifying common challenges in the field of energy/environment and inclusion of people with disabilities and coming up with joint cross-border project proposals which then will be submitted to a special call for proposals funded within the ICLD programme. The ERB helped to facilitate the programme on the territory of the Kaliningrad Region and will also be engaged in further activities supporting this cooperation.

Under the Polish presidency of the Council of the Baltic Sea States, the Ministry of Economic Development of Poland invites to the conference
entitled “INTERREG changes the Baltic Sea Region. Stories that inspire”.

The conference is scheduled to take place on 23-24 May 2016 Gdańsk, Poland at the European Solidarity Centre.

The conference is organised in cooperation with 3 INTERREG programmes which have a significant impact on the development of the Baltic Sea Region: South Baltic, Baltic Sea Region and Central Baltic.

13010747_1161271803929223_8203383883632707762_nCooperation of Regions in the Baltic Sea Area was the title of a workshop organised on 15th April 2016 in Saint Petersburg by the Brandenburg Region within the framework of the 13th German Week. The workshop gathered regional political representatives, international experts and members of pan-Baltic organisations. Euroregion Baltic contributed to the discussion by giving presentation on the work of ERB with special focus on current priorities under the Russian presidency. The meeting also offered valuable opportunities to discuss future cooperation within different formats including the upcoming EUSBSR Forum in Stockholm.

The first 2016 the meetings of Euroregion Baltic are to be held on 7-8th April 2016 in Kaliningrad and Svetlogorsk in Kaliningrad Region, Russia.

During the meeting of the Executive Board on 8th April 2016 in Svetlogorsk the ERB Presidency will be handed over from Pomorskie Region to Kaliningrad Region with Mr Aleksander Bogdanov, Deputy Chairman of Kaliningrad Regional Government assuming the position of the President of Euroregion Baltic. The ERB Executive Board will be asked to approve the activity report for 2015 and Action Plan for 2016 – 2017 specifying goals and expected results of our work in the two coming years.

The meetings will also see the transfer of Chairpersonship within the ERB Youth Board, which will take place at its meeting on 7th April 2016 in Kaliningrad when Mr Tautrimas Rupulevičius from Klaipeda Region assumes the position of Youth Board’s Chairperson.

Also on 7th April 2016 in Kaliningrad an information seminar will be held that will showcase European Territorial Cooperation programmes and Swedish international development instruments in support of Russian stakeholders active in cross-border cooperation in Euroregion Baltic.

Euroregion Baltic has the pleasure to invite ERB stakeholders to an information seminar entitled European Territorial Cooperation programmes and Swedish international development instruments in support of Russian stakeholders active in cross-border cooperation in Euroregion Baltic.

The seminar will be hosted by the Regional Government of Kaliningrad Region on 7th April 2016 (15.00 – 17.30 EET) at the Museum of the World Ocean in Kaliningrad and will include interventions from several experts representing relevant institutions facilitating cross-border cooperation in the Baltic Sea Region such as the Swedish International Centre for Local Democracy ICLD, Swedish Institute and the Interreg South Baltic Programme 2014-2020.

The goal of the seminar is to inform stakeholders from the Kaliningrad Region about relevant instruments available for Russian institutions and organisations for initiating and developing joint cross-border initiatives and projects within Euroregion Baltic cooperation area.

The seminar is part of the meetings of ERB Executive Board and Youth Board which are taking place in Kaliningrad and Svetlogorsk on 7-8th April 2016.
