120 registered to the LAG Conference

“Village – I live here, work and rest” is the main title of the first bigger conference for Local Action Groups (LAG’s) in Euroregion Baltic, which will be held in the University of Warmia-Mazury Tuesday 4 August 2009. More than 120 participants have been registered to the conference, coming from 6 countries: Denmark, Estonia, Poland, Russia, Sweden and Ukraine.

Mr Jaroslaw Sloma, member of the Marshal Board in Warmia-Mazury Region, will open the Conference, which will mainly focus on presentation of LAG’s from Denmark, Poland and Sweden, as well as similar local structures in Russia and Ukraine, and NGO’s taking part in the conference. After the presentation there will be a “Market Place” giving the participants an opportunity to make contacts, exchange project ideas, knowledge and experiences etc.

Wednesday 5 August 2009 the ERB Rural Development Working Group will meet in Olsztyn. Besides evaluating and following up the LAG Conference the WG will also make a status of its work, discuss future directions, the project idea of establishing a South Baltic Rural Development Centre and the project initiated by Karlshamn Municipality to promote culinary heritage.
