First CoR Monitoring Report on Europe 2020

The Committee of the Regions and its Europe 2020 Monitoring Platform have issued the first Monitoring Report on Europe 2020. The report, which will be published every year in December, highlights the issues at stake from the viewpoint of the local and regional authorities on the basis of its consultative activity in the policy fields relevant to achieve a smart, sustainable and inclusive growth.

The main goals of this year’s report is to analyse if the partnership approach has already been used in the preparations of draft National Reforms Programmes. The first assessment shows that in numerous Member States local and regional authorities have been able to express their points of view on the content of the firsts drafts of NRPs, although the partnership between national governments, regions and cities on the design and implementation of the NRPs has not yet become a diffuse, structured and permanent approach.
