The European Commission has published its communication on the budget review on 19 October 2010. Its main findings are that the current rules for the EU budget make it slow to react to unforeseen events while too many complexities hinder its efficiency and transparency.

ERB President, Mr Jacek Protas was a rapporteur for the Committee of the Regions which will be making in the period up to December 2010 an assessment of the situation facing local and regional authorities in the Eastern Partnership countries. On 06.10.2010, the Committee of the Regions adopted the opinion presented by Mr Protas.

The MOMENT Modern Water Management Project being implemented within the South Baltic Cross-border Co-operation Programme has issued its second newsletter.

The EU-funded TEN-T project entitled ‘Baltic-Link Motorways of the Seas Gdynia-Karlskrona’ has recently issued its second 2010 newsletter. It contains description of activities that have  been conducted within the project so far, including an important project meeting that was held between 10-11th May 2010 in Gdynia, Poland.
