South Baltic Monitoring Committee approves 12 new projects

The Interreg South Baltic Programme 2014-2020 is now looking for the Head of Joint Secretariat located in Gdańsk, Poland. Further information on the position and the requirements for candidates can be found here.

The deadline for the submission of applications is 17 October 2016, 24:00 CET.

The Regional Council in Kalmar and all project partners would like to invite relevant stakeholders with the ERB and beyond for the kick-off conference of the CaSYPoT project which will be held in Emmaboda, Sweden on 20-21st September 2016.

The CaSYPoT (Capacity building for Strategic Youth Policy and Transnational cooperation) has been developed by the stakeholders of ERB cooperation in order to strengthen the influence of young people on the functioning of their local and regional communities, allowing them to have a greater say on how certain policies are developed and implemented. Employing the Swedish LUPP methodology on the cross-border level, the partners are aiming at creating a new framework of consultations and engagement of young people in all regions of the South Baltic area. The project has been officially supported by the ERB Executive Board and the ERB Youth Board, which consider it an important step in creating knowledge-based development strategies in the Baltic Sea Region.

On 26-27 April 2016 in Kalmar, Sweden the delegates to the Monitoring Committee (MC) of the Interreg South Baltic Programme 2014-2020 met to discuss the results of the the 1st call for proposals. Following in-depth and detailed analysis of each of the 27 proposals, they decided to approve 10 projects for funding.

The 2007-2013 South Baltic Cross-border Cooperation Programme (SBP) was one of the most important cooperation tools for Euroregion Baltic as it  included most of the territories of ERB located in Lithuania, Denmark, Poland and Sweden. Being one of the European Territorial Cooperation programmes however, it did not include areas located outside EU thereby preventing partners from the Kaliningrad Region from participating in SBP projects on equal basis and with direct financial support from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Nevertheless, organisations located in Kaliningrad could still take part in the SBP projects as Associated Partners thereby participating in project activities and develop cross-border cooperation links with relevant partners from other regions of the South Baltic area.
