ERB Board meeting and Youth Board meeting in Iława

On 11&12th September, Euroregion Baltic Board meeting took place in Iława, Poland. Thank you for great hospitality to Warmia and Masuria region and Marshal Gustaw Marek Brzezin for being with us and welcoming us with his kind words.

The meeting was chaired by ERB President, Mayor of Klaipeda, Mr Vytautas Grubliauskas. Klaipeda Region currently holds the presidency of Euroregion Baltic. During the meeting we discussed and talked about:

  • the final sequence of ERB Presidency transfers post-2020
  • South Baltic Sea cooperation from the perspective of Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Kaliningrad
  • Presentation of the Water Core Group Work Plan for 2020-2022
  • Presentation of the ERB Youth Board Strategy prepared as the outcome of the Casypot project
  • Presentation of the ERB Youth Board Strategy prepared as the outcome of the Casypot project
  • Runmageddon Baltic League event 2020 – presentation of the idea
  • Discussion about the current status of the Programme and future shape of the Interreg South Baltic
  • Presentation of the Interreg Baltic Sea Region SUMBA project
  • Euroregion Baltic Action Plan status
  • Information about the upcoming events in ERB Members and conferences & training in the Umbrella project open to all ERB members.

We are also thrilled to have two new Youth Board members from Blekinge region aboard, welcome!

This was the last meeting this year under the ERB Presidency led by Klaipeda Region. Next year the Chairmanship will be transferred t Association of Polish Communes Euroregion Baltic from Poland and the new ERB resident will be Mr Witold Wróblewski, Mayor of Elbląg. Thus the next ERB Board meeting is planned for 12-13th February in Elbląg, Poland.
